Happy Saturday and happy first official day of summer, everyone! My first Relay For Life touched me in ways that I never thought possible. From set-up to getting to know all the participants to walking the track during the Survivors’ Lap to the emotional Luminary Ceremony, it’s an experience I won’t soon forget. I was on-site for a total of 20 hours and I’m surprised I’m awake right now. I’m so grateful I had the opportunity to be part of such a moving event.

If you’re in the mood for some light reading, here’s a roundup of links I’m loving this week…

+ This summer, why not kick things up a notch with these flavourful popsicles.

+ I found this TED Radio Hour on How We Love to be very interesting.

+ According to a new study, food trucks are safer than restaurants.

+ Margaret Zhang’s exquisite editorial for Elle.com.

+ Emily shares a collection of her favourite sandals and complementary nail polishes.

+ Cool infographic: 3 facts about laughter.

+ What to do when you’ve got 36 hours in Madrid.

+ Obsessing over this look from The Chriselle Factor.

+ Love this post by Garance on words that get on her nerves.

+ Lupita Nyong’o’s first Vogue cover.

japanHappy weekend, everyone! What’s everyone up to this weekend? Living it up or just chilling at home? Yesterday evening, I watched X-Men: Days of Future Past in 3D and all I’m gonna say is: go see it!

I’m on my way out to a Relay for Life North York promo event. Less than a month until event day!

Happy Memorial Day weekend to my American readers!

Here are a few fun links from around the web, in case you’re in the mood for some light reading…

+ A great reminder: Jonesin’ for Likes: Staying sane on the Internet.

Happy Saturday, all! I can’t believe how quickly May seems to be flying by. The weekend is shaping up to be a gorgeous one with lots of sunshine. I’m meeting up with a friend from out of town for a sushi dinner this evening and attending a promo event for Relay for Life tomorrow. Happy Mother’s day weekend to all the amazing mothers out there! Mother’s Day is a bit of a rough day for me. This year will make 22 years since I lost my mom. I sometimes wonder if my life would’ve turned out differently if she were still alive.

Make sure to show your mom some love tomorrow and everyday after while you can!

Whatever you’ve got planned this weekend, be safe!

Here’s a roundup of my favourite links from around the web this week…

+ The forgotten photos of mothers.

+ This roundup shows that moms (big sisters, aunts, grandmas or whoever helped shape you into who you are today) really do know best.

+ If you’re as Pinterest obsessed as I am, make a note of Megan’s tips on using Pinterest for your business.

+ I can’t get enough of Rosie’s recap of her Dallas trip. So many exquisitely captured moments.

+ Insane ice cream flavours to try in LA. The Goat Cheese Wild Forest Berry Swirl caught my attention.

+ Currently loving these scalloped shorts.

+ Because sometimes all you need is an ice cream sundae!

+ If you love Humans of New York, chances are you’ll love this.

+ Health news: Doctors use patient’s immune cells to shrink cancer tumours.

+ I can’t believe I’m just stumbling across this post. Garance interviewed Nina Garcia during New York Fashion Week and it was amazing. Her career is so inspiring.

+ This review of the best horse shampoo for humans made me laugh. My mom washed my hair with this when I was a little girl and I had no idea it was horse shampoo.

aialaHappy Friday, all! Got any exciting plans for the weekend? Last year this time, I visited High Park to check out the cherry blossoms and have a picnic. Thanks to the long, harsh winter we had here in Toronto, the cherry blossom buds are still in hiding. The High Park Nature Centre is closely tracking and predicting when the Sakura trees will bloom this year. I can’t wait!

I hope the weather is nice and sunny in your corner of the world. Whatever you’re doing this weekend, stay safe.

If you’re staying indoors, here’s a roundup of posts from around the web to keep you company…

+ The weirdest things people Google every month.

+ The coolest offices in the world. Helloooo, Google and Inventionland Design Factory.

+ Cressida Bonas takes time off work to nurse her broken heart. Must be nice.

+ I love this question/answer session with Emily and her hubby, Geoffrey.

+ A lovely Mother’s Day gift guide.

+ Chocolate berry chia coffee parfaits.

+ This sneak peek at Free People’s May Catalog conjures up images of sun, sea, surf and sand.

+ This documentary connects the dots about food.

+ Eyelet and chambray love.

+ Love this post by Garance on the pressures of dressing up every time you leave the house.

+ Kayla reflects on her “magic age” in this post and it’s pretty brilliant. Made me smile.

+ Not for the faint of heart: A look at the world’s most amazing skywalks. The highly anticipated Glacier Skywalk with breathtaking views of the Canadian Rockies opened to the public yesterday.

+ The perfect song to kick off your weekend! Brings me back to those afternoons I’d race home to catch TRL.

Have a lovely weekend, everyone!
