PFW Roundup :: Coolest Runway Accessories

From shopping baskets at Chanel to sneaker-inspired pumps at Dior, designers really stepped up their accessories game this season.┬áIt’s time to profess our love for the bags, shoes and everything in between that touched the Paris runways.

Karl took us on a trip to his supermarket for Chanel’s Fall 2014 runway show. Only Karl can make grocery shopping look this chic. Something tells me these wire shopping baskets and shrink-wrapped quilted bags will be flying off the shelves come fall. chanel runwayKenzo

Carol Lim and Humberto Leon teamed up with Director David Lynch this season. “There are tools in every one of his movies,” Leon told Style.com in a backstage interview. Hence the printed and embroidered tools on most of the pieces. The designers totally nailed it with their tool-embellished clutches. Kenzo clutches

LFW Fall 2014 :: Burberry Prorsum

Christopher Bailey did it again. For this collection titled “The Bloomsbury Girls”, he was inspired by the British decorative art of the Bloomsbury set – an influential group of writers, artists and thinkers who lived and worked in the Bloomsbury quarter of London and Charleston house in East Sussex.

Bailey’s Bloomsbury Girls came down the runway in silk day dresses cinched at the waist, long lace gowns topped with cropped shearling jackets and cashmere ‘blanket coats’. Pretty much every piece was hand painted – from dresses and coats to scarves and open-toed booties. Each model carried hand-painted, dome-shaped leather and suede bags. The show wrapped with all the models (led by Cara Delevingne) parading down the runway with monogrammed blankets draped over their shoulders.

LFW Fall 2014 :: Hunter Original

Hunter, the heritage English rubber boot company, unveiled its first-ever clothing collection, Hunter Original at London Fashion Week on Saturday. With 160 years of traction under its soles and new creative director Alasdhair Willis holding the reins, the brand made quite a splash on the runway.

Inspired by ‘expeditions into the final frontiers of the deep sea and outer space’, Willis showcased outerwear constructed out of technical fabrics like neoprene, vulcanized rubber and high-tech fleece. Models stomped their way down the water-filled runway in waterproof trench coats, rubber ponchos, shiny puffer jackets, fleece jackets, and knit sweaters topped off with stylish balaclavas and beanies. The models splashed the front row as they marched through the water in Hunter’s newest welly designs – a heeled rubber boot and a Chelsea boot for men.
