Merry Christmas + Links I Love

Christmas Tree

I’m off to New York for Christmas vacation and I’ve been googling NYC restaurants and attractions all week long. If you live in the city, I’d really appreciate any recommendations for must-try restaurants and cafes.

What’s everyone got planned for Christmas day? Whatever you end up doing, I hope you have an amazing holiday! As always, here’s a roundup of my  favourite links this week…

+ The Rockettes on what makes them kick. Logan Reginato says, The Christmas Spectacular is incredibly difficult for us Rockettes, but so rewarding. We do up to 300 kicks per show, sometimes up to five shows per day.”

+ Loved this New York Times piece (complete with graphics!) on The Art of Turning Around an Airplane.

+ A nutcracker life. Behind the scenes with the New York City Ballet as the company gets ready for its month-long journey performing the magical holiday staple.

+ A refreshing holiday drink: Sparkling Pear Apple Cider Sangria!

+ A fascinating TED Talk by sculptor Jason deCaires Taylor: An underwater art museum, teeming with life. “But over the years, I’ve realized that the greatest thing about what we do, the really humbling thing about the work, is that as soon as we submerge the sculptures, they’re not ours anymore, because as soon as we sink them, the sculptures, they belong to the sea.”

+ In case you missed it: Yesterday, I shared my winter 2016 reads. First up, Tales from the Back Row by Amy Odell. I’ll be reading this one on the plane tomorrow!

+ I’ll be sharing photos on Instagram, so feel free to follow along @donzwebb.

Merry Christmas, everyone! I’m off to finish packing.:)

Style Inspiration :: Olivia Palermo at Spring 2015

OP fringe and pleats

No matter the occasion, Olivia Palermo always manages to be camera-ready. For the Spring 2015 shows in New York, Olivia doubled up on pleats at Tibi, channeled the western look in a leather fringe skirt and suede blouse at Rachel Zoe, and got all wrapped up at DVF.

On the streets of London, the street style star was snapped wearing a multi-coloured Matthew Williamson coat which she styled as a dress, a lady-like lace Burberry dress with a twist, and a knotted camo shirt with a peplum hem mini skirt.

She’s not afraid to mix things up and still manages to look impeccably polished. Elegant, effortless, edgy.

Happy weekend + links I love

Happy Friday, friends!! It’s bitterly cold outside so I’m staying put. Last night, Peel Regional Police received over 100 calls from people who reported loud booms that rang out like gunshots in the night. According to officials at The Weather Network, those loud booms were a rare phenomenon called “frost quakes” – water deep in the soil freezing, expanding and cracking. While frost quakes pose no threat to the public, the deep freeze-like temperatures and severe wind chill certainly do. So layer up, everyone! What’s everybody up to this first weekend of 2014? Kickin’ off the weekend with some links I’m lovin’ this week…

Feeling so inspired by this gorgeous engagement session in Sun Peaks, British Columbia. Complete with tons of the fluffy stuff, hot apple cider, gingerbread cookies, mistletoe kisses, and a homemade Christmas quilt!

A few lucky fans will get the chance to sweat alongside Madonna next month. The Material Girl will lead a cardio-dance class at the grand-opening of her Hard Candy gym in Toronto on February 11.

Toronto adventure-seekers and photographers, Jess and Matt take us on an Icelandic trip to remember!

Stumbled across this adorable wedding video.

So in love with this beautifully-written post. It’s the most perfect read on a winter evening.

I am a huge fan of Love Taza and her beautiful photos from Paris posts make me wanna hop on the next flight out to the City of Love. Time to play the lotto!

A little dance inspiration for your weekend.

Have a relaxing weekend, everyone! If you’re being hit by the snowstorm, make the best of it! Bundle up, get outside, and make snow angels.:)
