What’s everyone up to this weekend? Can you believe fall officially arrives on Sunday?! With the temperature climbing into the 80s tomorrow, I’m not buying it. I plan on tackling my fall reading list and cleaning out my closet. It’s that time of the year again – time to sort, bag and donate!
There’s a whole lot going on in our world this week. Here’s a look at some interesting tidbits from around the web…
+ World news: A senior Australian official announced that crews will resume the underwater search for missing Malaysian Airlines flight MH370. The first of three ships will be dispatched to the southern Indian Ocean on September 30.
+ Health news: This week, the United Nations Security Council held its first ever emergency meeting on a public health crisis. Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon declared the Ebola outbreak in West Africa “a threat to international peace and security”. The Security Council unanimously passed a resolution calling on countries to offer urgent assistance by sending health workers and medical supplies, and building treatment centres. The resolution was co-sponsored by 131 states – a record for the Council.
+ Career: Joanna wrote a great piece on 10 lessons she’s learned during her career.
+ Fashion: It’s been one busy year for this Romanian beauty. This week, De Beers Diamond Jewellers launched its new Autumn/Winter 2014 campaign starring the model. She has also appeared in H&M’s Spring 2014 lookbook and Mango’s Summer 2014 campaign.
+ Fashion Week: This picture-perfect roundup of 10 fave looks from Oscar de la Renta left me speechless.
+ Laugh it up: Leandra’s mental ramblings as she sits through the Mary Katrantzou show. I can’t stop laughing.
+ Gimme some sugar: Thalia made this positively dreamy Belgian Mocha Mousse Layer Cake.
+ Just for fun: Really, really love these 50 Facts You Probably didn’t know about “Sex and the City”. #9, #11, #13 and # 41 make good conversation starters.
