For the past 10 years, Canada’s Cashmere brand has been challenging select Canadian designers to create couture collections using 100 per cent Cashmere bathroom tissue. The White Cashmere Collection celebrated its 10th anniversary this year with an awe-inspiring fashion showcase at Toronto’s Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO).
The annual showcase is a fundraiser for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. As part of its ongoing relationship with the foundation, Cashmere releases the white and pink themed bathroom tissue every year during Breast Cancer Awareness month. Twenty-five cents from the sale of every package goes to help raise consumer awareness and funds for breast cancer research and education. It’s such a great cause.
This year’s show featured a mix of new and returning designers including Joseph Helmer, Marie Saint Pierre, David Dixon, Christopher Paunil, Carlie Wong, and Sunny Fong of VAWK.
I love to see what designers can create using unconventional materials. All the designs are masterpieces and deserve to be on display in a gallery. I still can’t believe it’s toilet paper! Here are some of my favorites from the collection:

Canadians can view the collection and vote for their favorite design on Cashmere Bathroom Tissue’s facebook page.
For each vote cast, Cashmere will donate $1 to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Votes will be entered for a chance to win a $10,000 shopping spree. The winning designer has a chance to have up to $10,000 donated to a charity of their choice. Last day for voting is November 1st, 2013.
